Welcome to Online Piano Coach. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) outline the conditions that apply when you purchase, access, or participate in Online Piano Coach programs, memberships, coaching, digital resources, or related services (“Services”).

By purchasing a membership, creating an account, accessing program materials, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

If the student is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete registration and agree to these Terms on the student’s behalf.

1. About Online Piano Coach

Online Piano Coach provides online piano education, practice support, educational videos, digital resources, and personalized coaching.

Depending on the membership or program purchased, Services may include:

  • Pre-recorded instructional videos

  • Assigned piano repertoire, exercises, or learning activities

  • Practice guidance and accountability

  • Access to an online practice or learning platform

  • Personalized video feedback

  • Student video submissions

  • Educational resources

  • Optional live lessons, events, or additional services

The exact features included in your membership will be described at the time of purchase.

Online Piano Coach is designed primarily as an online educational and coaching service. Unless specifically included in the program purchased, membership does not include weekly live private piano lessons.

2. Student Responsibilities

Students are responsible for participating consistently and completing the practice and learning activities necessary to progress.

Students are expected to:

  • Have access to an appropriate piano or keyboard

  • Obtain any required books or materials unless otherwise stated

  • Practice independently between coaching interactions

  • Submit videos or assignments according to the requirements of their membership

  • Maintain appropriate and respectful communication

  • Maintain access to a compatible device and reliable internet connection

Musical progress depends on many factors, including practice consistency, previous experience, age, learning needs, and participation. Online Piano Coach cannot guarantee a particular level of progress, examination result, performance outcome, or timeline.

3. Membership and Billing

Membership fees are charged according to the price and billing schedule displayed at the time of registration.

If you select a recurring membership, you authorize Online Piano Coach and its payment processor to automatically charge the payment method provided according to the applicable billing schedule until the membership is cancelled or otherwise ends in accordance with these Terms.

Prices may vary depending on the program, membership level, promotional offer, or services selected.

Any applicable taxes will be charged as required by law.

Online Piano Coach may change membership pricing in the future. Existing members will receive reasonable notice before a pricing change applies to a future billing period.

4. Membership Commitment and Cancellation

Any minimum commitment period will be clearly disclosed at the time of purchase.

If your membership includes a minimum commitment, you remain responsible for payments during that commitment period unless otherwise required by applicable law or agreed to in writing by Online Piano Coach.

After any minimum commitment has been completed, recurring memberships may be cancelled according to the cancellation terms presented at registration.

Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not automatically provide a refund for amounts already paid.

Online Piano Coach reserves the right to offer different membership structures, including monthly, term-based, fixed-duration, or promotional memberships.

5. Refunds

Because Online Piano Coach provides immediate access to digital educational content, resources, and/or coaching services, payments are generally non-refundable once access has been provided, except where required by applicable law.

Failure to use the program, submit videos, practice, access the learning platform, or otherwise participate does not entitle the member to a refund.

If Online Piano Coach is unable to provide a significant portion of a paid service, an appropriate credit, extension, replacement service, or refund may be provided at our discretion and subject to applicable law.

6. Personalized Video Feedback and Submissions

Memberships that include personalized coaching may allow students to submit recordings of their playing for review.

Submission limits, response frequency, and other coaching features are determined by the membership purchased.

Unused submissions do not accumulate or carry forward unless specifically stated otherwise.

Feedback is intended to provide educational guidance based on the material submitted by the student. The quality and usefulness of feedback may depend on the audio, video, camera angle, repertoire information, and other information provided.

Students should submit recordings that allow the instructor to reasonably see and hear their playing.

7. Response Times and Availability

Online Piano Coach is an asynchronous service. Personalized feedback is not necessarily provided immediately after a submission.

Estimated response times may be communicated within the program but are not guaranteed during holidays, scheduled closures, illness, technical disruptions, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Online Piano Coach may establish scheduled breaks or periods during which coaching responses are unavailable. Where applicable, these will be communicated to members.

8. Live Lessons and Additional Services

Live lessons, consultations, or other services may occasionally be available for an additional fee unless specifically included in the membership purchased.

Any cancellation or rescheduling policy applicable to a live appointment will be provided when that service is booked.

Membership does not guarantee availability for additional live lessons.

9. Third-Party Platforms

Online Piano Coach may use third-party services to deliver portions of the program, including payment processors, video hosting services, practice platforms, communication tools, and learning platforms.

Your use of these services may also be subject to the third party’s own terms and privacy policies.

Online Piano Coach is not responsible for temporary outages, technical failures, changes, or discontinuation of third-party platforms outside our reasonable control. If a platform becomes unavailable, we may substitute another reasonable method of delivering the affected portion of the Service.

10. Accounts and Account Sharing

Your membership is intended for the registered student unless the purchased plan specifically states otherwise.

Login credentials, program access, videos, resources, coaching, and other membership benefits may not be shared with another person or household without written permission.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information and for activity occurring through your account.

Please notify Online Piano Coach if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

11. Intellectual Property

All original Online Piano Coach materials, including instructional videos, lesson materials, worksheets, graphics, written resources, exercises, course structures, and other original content, are owned by or licensed to Online Piano Coach and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Purchasing a membership provides you with a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the materials for your own educational purposes.

You may not, without prior written permission:

  • Copy or redistribute program materials

  • Share instructional videos or downloads with non-members

  • Upload program materials to another website or platform

  • Resell or sublicense program content

  • Record or reproduce substantial portions of the program for distribution

  • Use Online Piano Coach materials to create or operate another teaching program, course, or commercial product

Membership provides access to the Services; it does not transfer ownership of the program materials.

Third-party music, books, scores, and educational materials remain the property of their respective copyright holders.

12. Student Recordings and Privacy

Student recordings submitted for coaching are used for educational and administrative purposes related to providing the Service.

Submitting a recording for feedback does not give Online Piano Coach permission to publicly post the recording for advertising, social media, testimonials, or other promotional purposes unless separate permission has been obtained.

For students under 18, any promotional use of identifiable student recordings or images requires appropriate parent or guardian consent.

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Online Piano Coach Privacy Policy.

13. Appropriate Conduct

Students and parents are expected to communicate respectfully with instructors, staff, and other participants.

Online Piano Coach reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for conduct including harassment, abusive communication, unauthorized sharing of materials, fraudulent activity, intentional misuse of the Service, or other serious violations of these Terms.

Where appropriate, we will attempt to address concerns before terminating a membership. Serious misconduct may result in immediate termination.

14. Educational Disclaimer

Online Piano Coach provides music education and coaching.

Participation does not guarantee:

  • Admission to a music program

  • Successful completion of an examination

  • A particular examination mark

  • Competition or festival results

  • Performance opportunities

  • Achievement of a particular musical level within a specific period

  • Professional or financial outcomes

Recommendations regarding technique, repertoire, practice, and musical development are educational in nature and are based on the information reasonably available to the instructor.

15. Technical Requirements

Students are responsible for maintaining the equipment and technology necessary to participate in the program, including an internet connection, compatible device, and functioning audio/video recording equipment where submissions are required.

Online Piano Coach is not responsible for a student's inability to access the Services due to personal device failure, internet problems, forgotten login information, or other technical issues outside our reasonable control.

We will make reasonable efforts to assist with access issues related directly to our Services.

16. Changes to the Service

Online Piano Coach may occasionally update program materials, platforms, instructors, schedules, features, or delivery methods in order to improve or maintain the Service.

We may replace a feature with a reasonably comparable alternative when necessary.

If a material change significantly reduces the core Services included in a paid membership, affected members will be notified and an appropriate remedy will be considered in accordance with applicable law.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Online Piano Coach will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from participation in or inability to access the Services.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any right, remedy, warranty, or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

18. Termination of Access

Online Piano Coach may suspend or terminate access where a member:

  • Fails to make required payments

  • Shares or redistributes protected program content

  • Misuses the Service

  • Engages in abusive or inappropriate conduct

  • Materially violates these Terms

Termination resulting from a serious violation of these Terms does not automatically entitle the member to a refund, subject to applicable law.

19. Privacy

Your use of Online Piano Coach is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, stored, and disclosed.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review the Privacy Policy.

20. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically to reflect changes to the program, business practices, technology, or legal requirements.

The updated Terms will include a revised “Last Updated” date.

If a change materially affects an existing paid membership, reasonable notice will be provided where appropriate or required by law.

21. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights that may apply based on a customer's location.

By purchasing or using Online Piano Coach Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
